Boltsmith Candies started with a single batch of peanut brittle, a family recipe, and the belief that the best things in life are made slowly, carefully, and with real ingredients.
How it started
A recipe worth keeping
It started in a small kitchen with a cast-iron pot, a candy thermometer, and a recipe handwritten on a notecard. The brittle came out perfectly on the third try — golden, buttery, with just the right snap.
What began as holiday gifts for family and friends quickly became something more. People kept asking for more. So we kept making it — one batch at a time, the same way we always have.
How we make it
The same three steps, every time
Start with real ingredients
Pure cane sugar, real butter, fresh-roasted peanuts, and a pinch of salt. No shortcuts, no substitutes. Every ingredient earns its place.
Cook it slow, get it right
We cook every batch to exactly the right temperature — watching, stirring, and trusting the process. Rushing it ruins it. We never rush it.
Break it by hand, pack it fresh
Once it cools, we break each slab by hand into irregular, satisfying pieces. Then it's packed and shipped — usually within 24 hours of being made.
What we believe
Small on purpose
We're not trying to be a big candy company. We're trying to be a really good small one. That means keeping batches small, keeping quality high, and keeping the recipe exactly as it was written.
Small batches only
We never scale up at the expense of quality. Every batch is made fresh, in small quantities, by hand.
Real ingredients, always
No corn syrup, no artificial flavors, no preservatives. Just the good stuff — the way it was always meant to be made.
Made to order
We don't stockpile inventory. When you order, we make it. That's how you get brittle that actually tastes fresh.
